Alright, i know this might now belong here, if not please move it don't lock it or delete it! I want people to read this.

Here goes! Why is jdm becoming so big? Is it the newest trend or is everybody realizing that form follows function. do half of you "ricers" know why u fix ur cars up JDM? Because its the next "glowing neons and giant 3-stage wing" phase of cars? Maybe some of you were "ricers" but then found something better,which is kick ***, the pursuit of perfection! But for me JDM is the way of car building, right now i know my car is "JDM" to some people, but to me it is clean and simple, but not fast. All that will come in due time now that i have a kick *** job, with sweet money! Whether u like exotic carbon fiber lips and wings, or oem honda. to all u true JDMers,you guys rock

When i first got into cars 1999-2000 (i'm only 19) i knew hondas(even though my first car my parents bought was a VW) were where its at, i've seen them, i researched, i knew that technology was better that giant motors with push rods. My thought of a sweet car was a clean honda,that was quick(or fast) with a nice paint job or factory paint, with subtle rims not big ones, that was a daily driver. I knew neons and graphics werent for me! but i didn't know what category to call it. Then i met a friend of a friend named Patrick (JDMDC4INTEGRA on h-t). He drove a dark blue 89 civic 4-door, gutted with a jdm ZC motor with some work on it,on black del sol rims! Then that was it "JDM" became my obsession on hondas. I wanted more but not many people around were into that. So i searched magazines far and wide, finding such cars as "Spanky" and other greats. When i came time for my honda, i work 2 jobs for months till i finally bought my 93 hatch. i've had it two years and all thats done is skunk2 coilovers, kyb shocks, apexi muffler, and tenzo sinkos(wanted RNR's but couldn't find any,i didn't know where to look). i know its not the sweetest but soon it will be to me, because money is more abundant than it used to be.

Just thought i would share my thoughts with others. I would like to hear everybody's thought on this subject and what started ur "JDM" journey

if JDM were a person, you need to get off his nuts....NEVER have i seen anybody on this forum get so wet over JDM...

 

any way 99% of the cars here are not jdm they are usdm. unless its right hand drive and came from japan its usdm.

Yes. Every time I see a riced out Honda, I smile, because I'm glad thats 1 less Civic thats going to hop onto this bandwagon, and play it out.

 

JDM = new bandwagon rice ****.

People will pay exorbinant amounts of money for something because it's JDM even if it doesnt serve a function. I see this damn near daily with the clusters. Awesome, its now in something you have to do math to figure out how fast you're going AND its damn near dim enough you can't see it at night.

That's my opinion.

I never understood paying $600 for a "JDM" bumper that functions the same as the bumper that came on the car.

The $600 would be better spent learning how to drive/park so they don't need the <FONT COLOR="magenta">JDM</FONT> bumper guards.

yeah i agree as well. kind of defeats the purpose of having a clean JDM mobile.

So if I get my roommate to **** in a box in Japan while he's there next year, you'll buy it and put it on your car?

 

to me it's mainly just a cleanly modified car ...many parts on my car are usdm, many are jdm, most would consider my car jdm, but whatever.............John
