1989 Honda Civic
I'm inheriting a 1989 honda civic with 180,000 miles. The previous owner has put a lot of money into it, with recent: new brakes, 2 month old tires, tune up..
the problem with it now is the radiator needs to be replaced. She also said the fan is not working, and the shop told her she needed a new fan motor..
My question to you all is: Can i do all this myself?
If so, where would I get the parts, and are they fairly cheap? Is it difficult to do either of these?
I have always liked the civics, so i really look forward to owning this vehicle. Just need to do some repair work first.. Let me know what you all think.

It's easy to replace. BTW, if the Civic's been taken care of it's a good buy even with that many miles. I have almost 215,000 on my 89 hatch and it's still running very smooth.

before you change the fan motor, make sure it is actually the fan motor that is bad - it could be the sensor in the back of the block next to the oil filter (has 2 wire connector) that is bad - disconnect the sensor and connect the 2 wires together, with ignition switch on, and see if the fan comes on - if it does, replace that sensor - if not, check the fan relay which is located on the radiator support, just behind and to the right of the passenger side headlight - if it is o.k., then the motor must be bad
