hey guys, im the market for some hid's and theres these kits they make for the G2 (9004) lights and they have different (K's) so which one would give the best output for low beams?
SR Products 9004 - McCulloch HID Kit 10000K $395.00

SR Products 9004 - McCulloch HID Kit 6000K $385.00

Out of the kits listed, the 5300K will give you the best light output. Also, you can find the McCulloch kits for quite a bit less than that, if those are the ones you're interested in.
well i read on the typing they had inside the link, and it said that the lights are illegal, and only used for offroad/show use only..
so on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest... what chances do u think of me gettin busted for having those? and what would the penality of having them be?
and they'd be going on the stock housings/headlamp.. would light output be good or average? and would it be better then what i have now on the stock housings

If you are just getting them to have purple bling then get a higher kelvin kit. If you want the same color as OEM HID and want useable light, get 4300-5300k. You will never have the exact appearance as an OEM equipped car (flicker and wide light spread) because your headlight housings were made for halogen. You would need to do a retrofit with OEM HID projectors to get the full effect.
You probably won't get messed with as long as you don't get higher than 8-9k. I see cars on the road sometimes with purple HID (9-10k +) and it looks ghetto and they probably get tickets all the time.

Those aftermarket projectors were made with less R&D than OEM projectors so you will be lucky if they look OK with halogen bulbs, let alone HID. You could buy the aftermarket ones, swap in some HID projectors and you will be good to go. Get the black housings, less glare.

Actually, the price isn't that good since McCulloch is teh suck. For 400 bucks, you can easily find OEM HID on eBay (projectors, ballast, bulbs). Cost of the retrofit is 150 in labor, so its really not gonna be that much more. Also, finding replacement bulbs for a HID kit like the McCulloch will be expensive and difficult.
In the long run, you will have better HID output and less maintenance costs.

it all depends on what projector you want. if you desire S2K Hid, it would cost considerably more.

Possibly, yes. There is not much involved in the process though, there are a handful of how-to's on the net for HID retrofitting. If you feel confident using a dremel and have decent DIY skills you can probably pull it off. Check\search http://www.hidforum.com for info.
