Did I get screwed?
3 months ago I had the timing belt and water pump replaced for the 105k mile maintenance. This weekend I noticed coolant leaking so I took it to Honda. They replaced the o-ring; $4.30 for part and $190 for labor. The Haynes manual says the o-ring should be replaced when the water pump is replaced - is that what y'all do? I just think it's early for anything related to the water pump to go bad. Any thoughts? Opinions? Should I try to get my $200 back since they didn't replace the o-ring and/or the o-ring is defective since it's only 3 months old? Thanks.

It only makes sense to replace the water pump when replacing the timing belt.
I would definately inquire as to why they did not replace them both. If you feel like you're being dicked around or given a shitty excuse, ask to talk to the superior of them. If that doesn't work, ask to talk with the mechanic that did the work on your car.
Basically, just make it well known that you're not happy and that you would like some sort of reimbursement.

well that would depend on what o-ring was replaced... sound like maybe a water pipe o-ring with has nothing to do with the timing belt water pump service. so you may want to inquire nicely.... and new honda pumps come with a new gasket already installed for your particular year accord

I called and it wasn't the o-ring for the water pump. It was for the crossover tube, which might be the same thing as the water pipe that solo2slocivic mentioned. Thanks to those who replied.
i hope your issue was resolved. but for the future, my honda dealer gives me 12 month or 12,000 mile warrenty on the work they do so you might want to keep that in mind for the next time if you decide to go back to the dealer. (i'm assuming all honda dealers provides that warrenty on their work.)
