Last time that happened to me, I found out that someone tried to jack my car, but didn't finish the job. Weird as ****. He even left a gift for me on the seat- a piece of another car alarm (not mine) WTF?
This happened to me too recently in my '92 Oldsmobile....
The tumblers for the key in the ignition went bad...had to take it to the friggin dealer and get it replaced with a new key and all...totally sucked..

LOL!
in my old hatchz0r.. i had a duplicate key..
i had to put the key all the way in.. pull out the key just a tiny bit.. while pulling out.. put alittle bit of turning force.. and it would go into the on position.. bwahaha.. so ghetto..
maybe because it wasnt original honda key. Doh!

im on brake from my night class and no it was not the steering wheel, i wish it was though..i jsut went outside and messed with it. i got it to start, but it is very hard to turn....like its getting stuck or something. i called autozone, and they said i prlly needed a new ignition switch...they said before i do that to spray some 'dry lubricant' in there.....
what would be a dry lubricant
and thanks for all the quick replies..i have to go the second part of class, so i will be on in about an hour
thanks again

I work at schucks and I had a guy come in the other day with a similar problem. Just spray a little graphite spray on the key and pull it in and out a few times
. No but seriously that should help lubricate it a bit. Sounds like you might want to get a key cut from your VIN and if it still has problems get a new ignition cylinder.

A key that wont move in ignition WILL NOT be a switch.
Bad/old/worn key OR key cylinder/tumblers.
Spray some PB Blaster on the key and repeatedly in and out of the Cylinder, then spray more and redo. IF NOTHING, get a new key made by vin at dealer.
