Thieves man, ****. My R's emblems were stolen with a screwdriver and I got about 3 quarter inch scratches on both sides of the car. What are my options? Shaving the emblems is probably the best but I don't want to pay so much. Is it possible to buy some touch up paint from the dealer, paint the scratches and polish it really well and hope they don't show too much. How much would it cost to have them shaved by a shop? My worry about shops is that they might take the car out for a ride if I leave it there. Would it be cheaper to just replace the front bumper totally? Thanks for the info fellas, I know many of you can give advice from personal experience. By the way how can I get the ahesive off? I did a search but couldn't find anything. I tried a blowdryer but it doesn't seem to work. It looks like all the adhesive was left on the car.

I'm sorry you lost the emblems...

You know - if the thiefs would just hang out by my car and wait for me to get back, and then ask me if they could have my emblems I'd give them to them - just to avoid having them pried off with a screwdriver and scrathing the bodywork.

 

Electricity, I think they actually have things like that. Anyone with knowledge of electricity could probably rig their own. Sad thing is that if a thief gets hurt, your the one in trouble, lawsuits.

 

damn that really sucks. I had mine stolen a few days ago, but just the fronts and there were no scratches, the dude used his fingers. I wish this hate would just end.

I just don't get it......those red can be brought for $15.
I mean.....does the one on a real ITR that much differ? Extra HP gain or something?

 

the color of the red is much richer on the real ones. and the fakes(ones I have seen) are really fake looking.

Just get it shaved. That's what your insurance is for.

 

And you know what else will suck...there is a good possibility to find that emblem on ebay. Do some search, look for a pair for sale in your town.

 

Yah, the emblems cost only fifteen bucks...but they don't look as good as the real ones. Also the A$$ that stole the emblems wants to have the bragging rights that he got it from a Type R. The funny thing is that my friend's got stolen so he put the cheapy ones on and low and behold those got stolen too. Suckers!!!!! They thought that they were getting the real thing.

 

They scratched your car...sounds like your gonna need a new front end j/k that's my answer for everytning.

As far as the adhesive, try to contact a local graphics (vinyl) shop. There is this stuff they use that is not available for retail IT IS AWESOME, takes that crap right off, no damage to the paint. The shops around here will usually spot you some for a 5 spot or so.

 

I got adhesive remover from my local auto støre..

 

Just get the regular chrome A's. And about polishing after applying touch up paint, I beleive that touch up paint will be stripped off, so don't bother

 

Get new badges, some that are metal. Hook them up to the battery--just get them electrified. Place the car in a irresistable place for badge nappers. Set up the camera. Load up the fun to Honda-Tech.... j/k but I've been dreaming of this ever since they took mine.

You should maybe consider going with JDM Honda H badges if you do go to replace them. Just a thought.

 

Some ****** tried to steal my emblems while I was in school. I came outside, and saw a bunch of fingerprints around my emblems, and I went to check, and saw scratches all over it. They didn't steal it, but left some scracthes on my car. Damn ****.

 

 

i've had mine stolen...
factory emblems cost about $68 canadian....ask around and find a body shop that will shave your emblems insted of mounting a new emblems on with the insurance money they are getting....

i asked my body shop to waive my dedutable instead so i got genuine red A's, body work and paint for free...

just ask around...

 

I used WD40 and cotton cloth to get the adhesive off

 

Some ******* got mine today. Scratched it up pretty bad too.

I hope, one day, I will witness someone stealing a badge...
