I've got a 95 Accord. Whenever I lock/unlock my doors, I got a loud annoying noise. Can anybody tell me how I can fix that? Thanks.

 

Its an actuator, the little motor that pulls your locks down when you press the lock button. When they start going bad they make a horrible buzzing/grinding noise when you lock your doors. As far as fixing it goes its a pretty involved job. Honda wants like $100 for the part and another $100 for labor. The thing is you have to buy the genuine Honda part because the actuators that Circuit City ect. sell are the wrong voltage/strength and burn out too easily. I'd try and find the part on ebay or a discount genuine parts site and then take it to a shop that won't take your vital organs like Honda does. Or you could try and tackle it yourself but be prepared to spend multiple hours on it.

dealer want $200-$250...for it...
screw that....
mine sometimes it kept making on/off noise by itself when i lock it....

 

mine makes a nice scary sound when im unlocking... not locking... actuator in my case too? oh well i dont mind the noise.
