Default Quick Meguiar's review...

O.K. the wife and I went to town on our Black RSX-S using a bunch of Meguiar's products, and figured we'd give you the lowdown on it.

- Gold Class Wheel Cleaner: O.K. not QUITE as quick and easy as they lead you to believe, as removing some of the commute grime required application of a rag, but still WAY better than cleaning the wheels by hand

- Gold Class wash: Good stuff. It's not as good as some other brands at getting off bug residue, but I think that may be because it's milder, which I think is a good thing. Suds up well, cleans well, washes off well.

- Quik Clay Bar: Wow. I wash weekly and wax about monthly, so the paint on our car is in pretty good shape, but the long weekly commutes take their toll. You know the silky smooth feeling your car has after a fresh coat of wax? The clay bar leaves your unwaxed car feeling just that smooth. It also makes short work of hard water spots. I love this stuff... really time consuming but WELL worth the effort.

- Deep Crystal Wax: This is the 3 step wax that Meguiars recommends for the best shine. I have to admit I cheated a bit here and used the random orbit as opposed to going by hand, so that could color the results. The final outcome of step 3 is a beautifully waxed car. However, it didn't look to be any real improvement over the single step Gold Class wax I normally use.... swirl marks might be a tiny bit less evident, but that's about the extent of it.

- Gold Class Leather Cleaner: Not much to say here... been using it since we took delivery of the X and all is well. Leather is nice and soft, shows no signs of wear. Can't for sure say this is the conditioner, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

- Rubber and Vinyl Protectant: This stuff pisses me off. It did a decent job on the dash, and tires, but made a horrible mess of the arm rests. Now they have some odd splotching that I'm going to have to figure out a way to remove. All in all, I'd ditch this crud in an instant. Die Rubber and Vinyl Protectant, Die.

- Quik Detailer: Last step was to go around the car and touch up everything with quick detailer. It does an incredible job of taking away over spray from other stuff (the glass cleaner and tire protectant), as well as removing the droplets of sweat I was spraying everywhere by this time. Highly recommend this stuff. I keep some in the car at all times.

If anyone has any questions on the stuff I used, feel free to give me a holler. If you can give me ideas on de-splotching my armrest, I'd appreciate that too

I use a couple of Meguiars products and have been pretty happy with them. My favorite product is Meg (#83) Dual Action Cleaner Polish, when used with my PC.

I also like their Final Inspection QD (#34) because it's compatible with acrylic sealants.

If you like their Gold Class line, then you should also like their NXT and Mirror Glaze lines.

The NXT is a new line, and is and intermediate line between the Gold Class(novice) and Mirror Glaze ( advanced) lines.

I agree with Timmy... you'll probably like Meguiar's new NXT lineup- they also have a vinyl trim protectant that you might want to try out.

As for getting the splotchyness out of your armrest, try washing it off using a brush and a spray bottle of a Woolite/water mixture and drying it off. I may be mistaken, but isn't your armrest leather, not vinyl? Or are you talking about the armrests on your door panels? I'm not too familiar with the interior of an RSX...

Personally, I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on all of my vinyl- it leaves a nice matte finish.

Make sure you spray your vinyl/leather products on a clean rag or applicator. If you spray it directly on the vinyl/leather, you will see spots.
