Default ATTN: All Accord Forum Posters

This Accord section is becoming seriously dull. No one posts anymore cool pictures, and we dont get many new comers or others from this forum. The last really cool threads were about the ATR's and the 12 second accord with the flipped engine. We need more stuff like that. WAKE UP GUYS.

This board has always been lame I guess because Accord drivers are mostly idiots. 9 out of 10 Accords are all riced up with a little kid behind the wheel that thinks his car is fast.
Hopefully some day we'll have a large bunch of cool and active Accord people.

Hehe, I know my car isnt fast, but every morning I wake up, I wish there is an H22A4 sitting in the engine bay, and my bank account is still the same.

Hey same thing here. I'm not some little kid who thinks his car is fast. I'm 22, I know my car is slow and I wish I could afford an engine swap. Although my car is slow I still like to have fun and give ricers that rev up on me at red lights a run for their money if I think I have a shot. Someday after I've finished my MBA I'll have the money to afford a nice fast car, but until them I'll live with what I've got and make the best of it.

Oh hey even a stock Accord is faster than most cars on the street. A 5 speed Accord can hang with a V6 auto Camry and some manual BMW inline sixes. I don't dislike ricers themselves, but I do find them annoying.

Really now..... it's all about the quality time u spend doing all of the mods yourself right!!! Not a daddy's boy who get everything bought and installed for him. That is bullsh*t!!!!!! If u can't even modify it how the hell are u going to have any passion for it. U gotta live it, breath it, and love it!!!!!

I hope you're not calling me a daddy's boy. I'm a mamma's boy, and I pay for and do my own installs (but I sure as hell can't swap a motor by myself).

I own a '96 Lx auto, and I must say that these cars are pretty hopeless. They are not fast by any stretch of the means (God, I miss my old EG Civic ), but they are nice. Now, not to say that I'm knocking all Accords. Accords are still quicker than some of the stuff out there, but they are in no means a racer. With that said, they do have the potential to be fast. They respond fairly well to bolt on's (my K&N and DC header made a big difference) N20 will make a difference, as well as a turbo. They handle pretty well too, especially when refering to some of the God-awful crap (like the RSX and new Civic) that are doing away with the double wishbone in favor of Mcphearson struts. Also, Accords have the aftermarket on their side. A lot of R&D by many companies went into giving the Accord a very vast aftermarket.

However, don't kid yourself into thinking that you are gonna break any 1/4 records with an Accord. I mean seriously, what are the H22 Accords doing? 14's and 15's? My old roomate in college has an EF hybrid (B16) that will do a quarter mile in 13.5- All motor and no N20. That's pretty damn good, but you have to consider that he has an incredible amount of engine work and his car weighs in at just a little under 2,000 lbs. (About all that's in the interior is a shifter, steering wheel, roll cage, and a seat. )
I mean think about this. I could run my old EG against my Accord (with the bolt on's) and the EG would take the Accord every time. Now, maybe it was the driver (I mean I had a manual in the EG, so I could shift to stay in VTEC (you know, like a VTEC powered Honda is supposed to be driven)), but nonetheless the Civic would win.

I just give that example to say that I hate the ricers. I hate the Mugen stickers and the euro clear tails on the stock Accord that has platinum tented windows, a body kit, and 14" rims with the 70 series family sedan tires. You know, the guy who cruises around and revs on you at the light because he's proud that he has an intake. I hate that ****.

As for me, my Accord makes a great daily driver, especially for someone with a baby on the way. ( I would still have my EG, but it was a problem child). In the mean time, I'm not going to mod the Accord anymore. I thought about the H22 swap (which is the only way to be truely fast), but it doesn't seem worth it. I would rather keep the Accord as a daily driver until my project car is ready. I am currently looking for a clean AE86 Corolla GTS to work on. I love those cars. My wife and I used to have an AE92, but the tranny died. I loved that car though. The AE86 and its rev happy 4AG motor is a great tuner car with unlimited possibilities. It's different than the AE92 in the fact that the AE86 is a RWD car. They don't hardly weigh anything either. So, as soon as a find the right one......

If you are not familiar with the AE86, check out http://www.club4ag.com

1/4 mile records? Accords aren't drag cars.

i "thought" my car wasn't fast at all until......
well until I was doing 115 down the front straight at Summit point and having to brake within about 50 feet to around 30 mph. That feels fast as ****, especially with an M3 right on your ***. It also feels fast when you are passing ITR's, 5.0 Mustangs and other sport cars because you are a better "driver" than they are.
Speed is always relative to the driver.
The Accord is going to be a dull car when people do all the mods and do nothing with them. Swapping an engine just to swap the engine makes no sense. I have one engine mod done to my car, an AEM intake, that is it. I spent about $2500 on suspension and chassis setup and another $1000 on a wheel/ brake setup. An expensive, yet simple setup that allows me to be faster than other cars on a road course.
Front Wheel drive cars are not meant to be drag racers. Look at the physics of it. When a drag car takes the light all the weight shifts to the rear of the car. Doesn't add up to me. I am not saying that they cannot be drag cars, I am saying that they are not originally designed for that purpose, as a Camaro or Mustang is.
I know that there are some drag racers from this Accord forum and I support them in their quest, just as I would expect them to if I choose to run my car in some race series.
If you want to see what an Accord can do on a track come out to an NASA or Speedtrial driving event and watch me or 4dorrH22 or SOHCkordVTEC run. You will see what I am talking about.
I like the dullness of this board. It means you don't have to weed through useless posts to get info. I don't mind looking at pics, and I don't consider anything to be rice to a certain point. I post here because I don't know everything about my car or cars in general and look for info from people who do, and don't think any less of you for asking. I also know a lot about some things through first hand experience and can offer pretty good advice, IMHO. This is just my opinion on the matter. It is not intended to offend anyone and I hope it doesn't.

Well, I like cheese. Cheese is good. Personally, my favorite is a nice sharp cheddar sliced paper thin. Yum. I can taste it now, melting on my tongue. Brie is also an excellent cheese. Served on a table wafer it is an excellent way to wet the appetite of dinner guests. Yet another excellent cheese for an appetizer is baby swiss. Sliced thin and served with or withour crackers its distinct flavor and incredibly smooth texture make it a welcome treat. Cheese is not simply served strictly with your appetizers though. Spread cheese (no pun intended) through your entire meal. Sprinkle some feta on top of a salad for a creamy and delightful addition. Add a grated parmesan and mozzerella on top of chicken to enhance the flavor. You can even bring cheese to the dessert menu. The list is endless. Cheese and tropical fruit make and great dessert on a warm summer day, a slice of mild cheddar melted over a piece of hot apple pie make an interesting combination. If you prefer something a little more along the lines of a traditional dessert, the sweetened ricotta cheese filling of an Italian canoli will surely cure that sweet tooth. So remember cheese at your next meal.

**note do not sprinkle cheese on your Accord, it does not make it taste any better.**

Sure, we can become one of those boards. We can all ask each other what light bulbs look the best. I have been on a couple of those boards, and everything is the same old thing over and over and over again. I know traffic on this board is slow, but that is fine with me. Quality over quantity.

To those of you who are complaining, I challenge you to creat a new, fun, informative, and interesting topic everyday. Then I challenge everyone to debate, and reply in those therads. Good Luck.

i have visited all of those boards and have found 75% of the information you read is wrong, and no one corrects the mistakes like they do here. They are also cluttered with crappy useless posts. That is just my opinion of them though if you like them then that is your opinion. don't sat that this forum sucks because it doesn't get posted on 10 times a minute, but if you have a serious question it will get answered and get answered correctly, I will personally make sure of it.

edit: i think Big James brings up another point on quality of this board, nobody trys to flex muscles in here, we are more concerned with the quality of the posts and trying to get the most out of them we can.

im with bigjames and urbanlegend. i have had many tech questions, which have all been answered by someone from this board, or one of the other boards on honda-tech. i much prefer the quality over quantity anytime, especially with topics dealing with engines, and FI. there are a lot of knowledgeable members who are willing to help and answer questions here. you dont like this board, dont go here, easy as that. leave the rest of us boring people to post here. peace

i think they tried that at first but once you have seen persons pic in the signature once in a thread it gets really annoying to have to scroll through it a million times
I would post a pic of my car if I had one to post that was hosted on the net

I totally agree with you guys. Quality over quantity anytime. I just seems like the Accord forum has the least number of member posting to it. We need more knowledgable members.

Yeah like the slowness can be totally good. Like I've tried so other boards and there are so many members you post gets drowned in a sea of posts. Here it's slow enough that almost everyone can get individual attention.
