Default clutch not disengaging

i just did a swap on a b16 with cable clutch and i also replaced the clutch. i tried to modify the stock clutch cable to work. i think i got it to work but the clutch won't disengauge. when i try to pull up on the lever with my hand it feels like the throw out bearing meet the pressure plate and that were it stops this is the point at were the clutch pedal would be to the floor. maybe i just need to spend the money and get a 90 teg cable?

Let me chime in here....................you hosed something up. I have a B16, with the JDM Y-1 tranny and I never needed to modify anything. I still have the stock and original to the car Dx clutch cable.

Yeah, just adjust the cable...Usually the problem is the opposite, where the cable isn't long enough.

Well I can tell even without the cable if its right or not. But if you can or not matters on how strong your arms are. tighten up on the cable and see. But I assumed you already did that. if you can't get anything still then you may have a problem. My half cut can with a collapsed pressure plate. but then I always put a new clutch, pressure plate throwout bearing and pilot bearing whenever I do a swap.

k you said that theres play in the clutch lever until the throwout bearing hits the pressure plate, ok adjust your clutch cable so there is no play at all or very little. ok so adjust yoru lever high enough to take out all that play, so just keep shortening yoru clutch cable till all the play is gone, but back it off just a tiny bit so theres too much pressure on the pressure plate which would disengage the clutch. got it ?

When my clutch cable took a dump, I had the same problems. Replaced it with a 90 Teg clutch cable from Acura and problem solved. Have you checked the cable to see if it's stretched/snapped?

so if i pull the arm up to were it hits the pressure plate and then back it off a little this is were it should normally be? when i push on the clutch pedal i should not only be touching the pressure plate but actually applying force to it?
