Default does block need to be notched for rod clearence?

I have a b16a2 block being sleeved right now... plan to use an LS crank with Crower rods (for LS stroke) in the b16 block... I'm trying to find out for sure if the block needs to be notched for the rods to clear. I pulled the LS rods/crank out of another b16 motor that had the notches, so that makes me think it needs to be done.

anyone know for sure?

Thanks!

I doubt it. I've only ever heard of block notching in the D series, since the smaller bore makes less room for thick rod. If you do need to notch it, there are some excellent directions on doing it here...

yeah thats all I found, but I havent seen many people with stoker kits either... I guess since stroker kits are usually in NA motors maybe I should repost there...?

thanks for that link, I would be afraid to do that myself since the block will come back with a fresh set of Benson sleeves... but what the hell if it doesnt fit I'll just grind it.
