Electrical Dash Problem, Tach/Turn/Gas Guage...
If anyone could please help me with this problem I'd be obliged. On my 1989 CRX I just purchased many of the instruments on my dashboard are not operating. To be specific, the Tachometer, Gas Gauge, Lubricant Temperature, Brake/Engine Dash Lights, and the turn signal. The speedometer is working because it appears to be controlled by a separate wire harness. The Hazard lights work as well, and will activate both blinker lights when I turn it on. This diagram helps explain why the Hazard switch activates while the turn signal rod doesn’t, http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/C...0.pdf . The turn signal relay is working as well because the turn signals activate when the Hazard switch is on. I’ve checked fuse #14 for voltage and It tested positive, but it appears that most every electrical unit following fuse #14 doesn’t operate. I’ve also checked the wiring harnesses and can find no apparent physical flaws under the dash. I tested the turn signal rod and there seemed to be no power getting to it…and I swapped the instrument panel without luck. I am thinking that the wire harness going from the dash fuse box up to my instrument panel and steering wheel needs replacing for some physical misconnection I cannot find yet…but if anyone has any experience, suggestions, or confirmations I would be GREATLY appreciative.
