Default Cam Chain Tighteners

Been reading some about these, and it seems there needed on F4i's would these also apply to the RR. I only have 1100 miles on mine, there's a rattle but I know what it is, the vavles need adjusting already talked to 3 others in town with RR's they said first 1000 miles the valves will need to be shimmed. Anyway, question remains will I have a problem with the cam chain ?

No because honda really only had a problem with the CCT in 01 and fixed it in 02 so don't worry about it.

didnt they fix it in '03 on the f4i?...cause i have an 02 and it rattles like crazy.

anyways, i've never heard problems with the 900rr but i'm assuming they do cause the manual cct i had fit the 900rr/f2/f3/and the 1100.

Just dont worry about it until you hear another rattle. CCT doesnt go bad until a few thousand miles.

I have a 2000 929rr with 10k miles. I noticed an new vibration that I have never had before. At about 5000 rpm the bike starts to vibrate pretty bad. It has never happened before and it is very annoying. It only happens at higher rpm and even occurs when reving it in neutral. Could this be the cam chain tensioner?

Uhh, nah. Thats not true at all. I have an '02 and a few buddies have '03s and they have the same problem. THey fixed it in '04 with the part number ending in j23. Its like a 47 dollar part if I remember correctly, but thats the fix. I would get it fixed ASAP. I mean you dont want your bike throwing time and then wonder how much its going to cost to get your motor rebuilt....in your bike.

(This is for the F4i's, not directed towards the RR's)

IF you're under warranty they'll fix it for free... the automatic replacement is a blue dart part, as opposed to the garbage black dot one, or vice versa... I had a new one put in 500miles ago and no problems so far.
