Default What SECURITY Protects Your EF From Scum *everyone chime in*

Im looking into pretty much going out on security on my new crx thats being painted next week.

Ive got a heap load of money in this car so I figure I might as well protect it.

ALREADY INSTALLED:
-Hex shape screws holding down subs/amps/nitrous
-Fuel Pump Kill Switch
-Removed hood latch cable
-Locking Hood Pins
-Limo tint everywhere except windshield
-Wheel Locks

TO BE INSTALLED
-Fusion f2000 alarm with glass break sensor/remote siren with seperate power source (incase they cut main power wire) and sensors on all doors/hatch/hood
-Starter kill switch
-Something to stop slim jims

Now of course we all know Crx's are apparently easy as **** to get into by slimjimming the window. I was thinking of pop riveting in a piece of metal that protruded out so they could not stick the slim jim down, good idea?

Ive also been wanting to do a starter kill switch but havent had the time

Please help eachother out and give everyone some nice ideas, I know for a fact my Crx is going to be hit many times with the shady place I have to park and how much it sticks out.

Thanks

I'd still worry about them towing it..I've seen wheel boots for sale that you could put on at night. Don't know if its possible but people rent out extra space in their garages, maybe you could find one close to your house in a secure garage.

Rerouted battery to trunk, ran positive with 4-gauge audio cable and have an inline agu fuse, which I remove when I leave the vehicle. Also have shaved door handles (INSIDE and outside) and a Code Alarm system with separate power source. Extremely dark or limo tint is a good idea. If you have power door locks, get a plate welding into the inside of the door skin too, that helps prevent false triggering of the locks. I'm working on building a system to cheaply electrify the body of the vehicle, but that's a ways off for now.

Kill switches usually just tap into the ignition switch wires, not amazingly effective IMO. Just pull the main engine fuse underhood and take the ecu with you.

I can break into a crx with with a small flathead and my hands and nothing will be broken so them galls sensors are no good(I know somebody who had them)
You want to secure the car lose the key holes maek a plate blocking slim jims and make a rod you can acuate from the inside that holds the window from being pulled down.

Current system:
Hybrid Viper/Clifford system ( before they merged )
- audio sensor ( glass breakage)
- digitial tilt/motion sensor
- dual stage proximity sensor
- ignition immobilzed (simulates engine trouble)
- decoy alarm
- triggers on hood/doors/fuel door/hatch
- dual sirens/airhorns behind fenders
- LED's mounted in doors.
- doors/hatch/fuel door remote controlled.
New system:=?

WHen I get my car alarm installed the main thing I will be doing is making sure that I still have to open the door with my key. IMO it is a good idea to just manually open the dors with the key instead of using a remote door unlocker. For the car alarm I will see if there is anything out there with good RF encryption.

This should work to protect against any keyhole shenanigans!

And i'd like to add disconnecting your trunk release cable. And if you don't have a sub, leave the cargo cover opened, so that thiefs don't have to break in looking for something you don't have.

But to be helpful, you should at least tell us what weakness you're protecting, such as the door, window, etc. You don't have to tell us how you're protecting it.

most simple kill switch is the clutch switch one
pull off the plug a top of the clutch pedal and run to toggle or bypass switch

have a nice day
