Car was working fine yesterday, this morning i started up...it starts up...went back inside the house...5 mins later...i came out and my car was dead. I try to start it...it cranks but no spark. So im thinking it has to be the distributor, luckily...i had a spare distributor on me. I changed the distributor, and still the same problem..."crank but not turning over". So I was thinking "maybe" its the gas...because my "gas meter doesnt work" and i have been driving hard lately. So i filled it up with 2 gallons...and still the same problem.
Anybody have any ideas?

check to see if your fuel pump is priming, and check the fuel pressure. If you made sure you have a spark coming from both the distributors, it should be fuel related. Maybe you clogged the fuel filter by letting the car run out of gas? I'd check all of the fuel components next.
I feel your pain...my z6 is doing the same thing....EXCEPT, if I wait for about a minute, it WILL start. My pump is kicking, so I'm going to check the fuel filter tomorrow. Are you sure it's a spark problem and not primarily a fuel thing??

im pretty sure i have a fuel problem now...because in the past i went through 3 distributors...but this time its different. I can hear the spark plugs sparking..."eerr...err...err..tack" but there is no fuel going through? How do i check the fuel filter? What should i look for?

I believe it's against the firewall. Look for a canister type container with two hoses running to it. I never had this type of problem before either, but i'm sure if it's bad you will see a build-up of some kind. Maybe someone would be kind enough to provide us a pic? It's kind of hard to explain without one. Good luck man

O i have spark alright, i try to start it up this morning and it sounded like it was going to start but lacking fuel? how could this be?
have u tried to push start it?
if u push start it and it works, it could either be ur starter, or ur battery sucks already and its time for a replacement

I can see two thing, can you hear your fuel pump priming? if not, try to change the main relay, if itdoesnt help, it's the fuel pump. You also have a fuse for the fuel injection, you should look at that

main relay is only when your car dies when its temperate...meaning hot or cold. fuses are good.

priming? when i start my car...it cranks wont turn over...and i just noticed a second sound...like "woah woah woah woah"...could that "woah" sound be priming?
the car doesn't need to be on to hear the pump priming, turn your car to the ON position, don't try to start it. once its at the on position, you should hear the fuel pump, its located under the back seats on the right hand side (right hand side as if you were sitting in the car).

the fuel pump is located in under the back rear seats? what the hell i always thought it was in the engine bay somewhere. anyways, i tried to do what you did...turned the car to the ON position...no sound coming from anywhere what so ever. Is it possible to have a clogged up fuel filter?
