Going against all the advice and reviews I've seen I think, I purchased an entire Sony system (2 component speaker sets, 2 6x9 and an 4-channel amplifier) and completed the installation.

Although it certainly is louder, the sound reproduction sounds worse than my factory speakers. I seem to have lost a lot of the mid-range sounds, the music is now mostly bass and high-frequencies, without a smooth in-between.

It is disappointing but I can tweak it a little bit with the head unit, but I am not getting it close o where I want it to sound.

Let this be a testimonial to whoever is looking at Sony speakers. Or perhaps take this as a cry for help, if you can help me out tuning this problem out!

 

Adjust the amp?

Can anyone make a fresh peice of **** smell like Thanksgiving dinner??? I dont think so...you should have gone with what everyone said. They said it for a reason. The only thing I would buy that Sony is home theater.

 

yeah, sony car audio is horrible, their Tv's and home theater equipment is badass though, just stay away from their car audio ****.

ummm...not they're not. sony is garbage.

hey, you said yourself that the sound reproduction was worse than your stock speakers and that it was disappointing so dont complain when we say its junk.

 

Good on you for posting what you think, people have a tendancy to say stuff is great purely because they have spent a lot of money on it.
As for Sony stuff, I just sold my Sony headunit after 4 hassle-free years. It was a great unit, sure my new Alpine is better but that is reflected in the price and the fact it is brand new.
I wouldn't touch their speakers or amps, after hearing a few
