Default Integra Type R Legal, but Civic Type R is not?

I have a quick question. I know that the CTR motor is not legal becuase there is no USDM counterpart. BUT since they made the USDM type-r integra, the b18c5, does this mean I can make a ITR b18c swap legal because it has a USDM counter-part?

As long as it passes emissions, I would assume it would be legal. I don't see why it wouldn't be other than that reason.

well CA laws are strict. they say u cannot because it doesnt have a USDM counterpart. the ITR DOES tho, because of the US type-r. so i was interested to see if a ITR could get a BAR sticker

yes you can get them to pass (jdm itr) you just need everything that goes into making a usdm itr swap pass on it. all the obdII stuff, header, intake, etc...
good luck making it legal, im sure it will be nice to not worry about it

what modifications have to be made to make a JDM motor hook up to all the USDM smog equipemtn? I know the intake manifold has to be changed out to the USDM one, but what else?

uh i really suggest that you do some research on this subject as there is a **** load of information on ht about it.

but to give you a little heads up for an obdII motor it will need
legal header
legal intake
both the sencondary and primary o2 sensors installed and working
ecu that matches the motor
no codes being thrown
the diagnostic port in the right location
and a few other things

good luck
