as i came to a stop sign on the way home tonite, my car stalled out. the only way i could get it to run is to rev it while starting it and it had no power, sounded liek a go-kart. im figuring this has to be somethin with the timing, either the timing belt jumped and is now off a tooth or the tensioner came loose. i did a search and didn't come up with much of what i should look for so if anybody could give me any insight on what to check i'd appreciatte it. TIA
Sounds like youre missing on one cylinder. Easy way to find out is to have the engine running, pull the spark plug wire off one cylinder, if it starts to die out, put it back in. Try the next one until pulling it makes no change. That's which cylinder is missing. Then put the end of the spark plug wire to a ground, like a bolt sticking out of the block. If you can see and hear spark, then make sure the spark plug is okay and replace the injector.

i took the valve cover off and there seems to be some slack in the timing belt like its either off a tooth or the tensioner came loose

there was some slack in the belt in between the cams, but then i cranked it to TDC and its tight....does this mean that its a tooth off somewhere? somebody told me that it's sposda be like that, but i dont think it is...
when you line up the crank TDC and then look at the cams are they TDC? If not then its prolly a timing issue. There shouldnt be any slack between the cams unless something moved.

i think maybe the tensioner came loose and caused slack to be given to some part of the belt..im gonna tear into it more after school

im thinkin since you replaced cap/rotor/wires/plugs last week you made a mistake somewhere. not bashing your ability to perform the task, but thats the way things go.
