Default front wheel drag raceing

why do people soup up fwd cas for drag raceing, if you get a powerfull engine alot of the power would be wasted when you launch and all the weght trasfers away from the driveing wheels

or am i missing something?

radius arms in front... to prevent tire shake..... wheelie bars in the back...... no not to prevent wheelies... but to maintain propper weight transfer that complements the agressiveley set front weight of the car.... meaning it will prevent rear weight transfer... and well the challenge.... going 9's in a four cylinder street car is one thing..... its a whole other when that car isnt awd nor rwd... its FWD............... and then to be running 7's on a fwd race car... i mean damn there hasnt been any words invented yet to describe that...
ohh wait... amazing

also the sport is so new its a chance for many of us to be part of the birth of such an infant sport.... in many years we will be looking back watching on the history channel the BIRTH OF FWD DRAG RACING... and we will be like "wholly **** i was there, i was a part of that"

Couldn't be said any better. RWD cars have been proven to go fast and to be well developed racers. FWD drag racing is a game which takes some thinkng not just a idiot that has a RWD car and just puts a big motor in it like you domestic *****, no flaming meant, just comparing.

its been proven since the 50s for god sakes that a RWD car with a big engine will go fast. FWD is the new racing which take it how you want is more popular than RWD racing in the import scene. This is honda-tech i know everyone here is most likely FWD. Can't complain with 7 second passes with a FWD car, just wait till the end of the season, i predict someone is going to be shattering those 7.7's. (toyota)

I can understand where your coming from in a way.. But ALL Drag Racers know.. ET + MPH speak for themselves.. and if you can get some great 60 foots in between and cut anything in the .400 range on a pro tree your doing just fine.

Maybe you should try TUNING your v8 first, then you would know where we are COMING from

B16a motors make more hp then a top fuel v8 based on cubic inch.
The fun part is making the imports run backwards...thats where OUR challenge comes in.

In excess of 500hp per liter. That is amazing.

hp per liter is a useless staistic and has no affect on a cars performance

but just so we are clear the reason that fwd drag raceing is as popular is becasue it is a problom that people have to overcome and it is not as easy and simple as rwd drag raceing and that somehow makes the people who do it smarter....

call me crazy but if you are gonna spend loads of money on makeing power and reduceing weght why are you going to have that wasted becasue you want to use the front wheels?

To me the reason for doing it is just like others have said, the challenge to make a fwd car go fast. The times people are running with 4 cyls and fwd is pretty amazing to me. Not saying I don't like rwd cars, but to me right now that is what I want to do. A couple years ago I wanted to build a v8 so bad, but then I got mixed up in the wrong group some might say.

import cars are the muscle cars of today!just like back in the days people were trying to make the cars of their era faster, the people of today are doing the same thing! its called technology! do you still have a black and white t.v., no probably not, so get with the program....

i think you are missing the point of the STATISTIC, its to show how efficient the motor is, not how fast the car is

Its about proven what a FWD limits are and how far you can push them. Right now is just the starting of FWD dominance. When you go to the import races you like to see the Pro RWD guys hitting 6s but that isn't as much a challenge as getting a FWD into the 8's and now 7's. I get a awesome feeling when you see a FWd car going fast, don't know about anyone else. Domestic Boi's = ripped t-shirts, mullets, and a can of beer with a camaro by his side. haha

i find it a little odd that an alleged diehard domestic fan would be trolling a honda website but well look past that. if you are really curious and want to see what its all about come to one of the import events at raceway park. i was talking to a guy around my way who is into domestics even help build a pro mod car years back. now he has two 20th anniversary trans ams(3.8 turbo like the grand national) one is his daily the other is a track car. but he was telling me how impressed he is by the imports and says that when he is done with the track TA hes going to get a supra.

come check it out. if you are a true fan of speed i think youll appreciate it.

a moters efficentcy is how much fuel it comsumes and not the amount of power per liter it makes, Look at the 5.7 liter ls1 vs the 2 liter s2000 engine the vette engine may have less hp per liter and not have DOCH but makes more power. much more tourqe and more of everything But gets better gas milage

and i am yet to see a 7000hp front wheel drive dragster or professional fwd drag raceing teams or even a fwd dragster that was biult from scratch

also i take offence to you saying that camaro owners are dumb hicks, i have never said that import owners are short nerdy wiggers who like play video games and pretend there economey cars are fast....but i diden't and since i'm trying to be open minded

Ummm Tell Me How LONG Domestic dragsters have been around again??? Cough Cough what 50 yrs. Cough. so that is 50 yrs of R&D. to import drag racing which has been around for correct me if im wrong about 5-10 professional sactioned bodies. i dont' know how long but there is a difference there. i don't mind you open minded thoughts. Just thinking about the differnces between the two, im only 16 and i realize the difference in what people like and what is to come in racing. Domestics reign in drag racing i think is getting old and outdated and imports are the newer cool thing todo just like back in the old days. Just my $0.02 on this
