Here's the details... I never thought i'd be sellling so soon, but I need the money in the interim. Hopefully in the next two years I'll be back with a 954.

Selling my red and white 01 CBR F4i... the bike is in mint condition and has never been down. It has never been stunted or beaten on. The oil was changed at the 600 mile service and at 2200 miles by myself. I just had two brand new tires put on last week at about 3400 miles and change. The bike needs nothing and runs like a top. True... I'd have to ride the new 1000 before I jumped into one... but I figured I could find a good deal on a 954 in two years as opposed to a 1k which will only be out for 1.5yrs

 

it's a great loss but when u get the new cbr your gonna love it....

 

dood, the 954 is a great bike, ive ridden the 1k as well, yeah its a great bike, but the 54 is no...um...(insert slow animal here).

And for the love of God, please tell me you've ridden that F4i for a while and you haven't just dabbled with 600s only to take a 2 year break and come back with something fiercer.

 

Bought an F4 in 99, traded it in for the F4i in 01 (a good amount of experience), and now its 04, its time to move on... no wife or g/f, I'm just a young kid with alot of aspirations and the itch to own a home and build equity (not to mention get back to burbs and get the hell outta the city). Once I build enough equity on the house, I"ll buy another bike, but every little bit down helps lower the points you get for good credit/bigger DP...

and the something fiercer comment, I can handle it, I don't drive outta control... who knows, I may buy another F4i

 

That really sucks man . . . looks like I'll have nobody to ride with when I get up there, but good luck and I hope everything works out . . .

Cause its a zoo... I can't stand walkin out of my apt and brushing shoulders with 8949047047 people just to go a block.... takin the subways to go everywhere, etc. Its just not for me, I like suburbia... grass, trees, houses w/ garages, etc.

 

I think she's sold... to a guy from the UK. He's arranging everything and sending payment this week. We'll see if this plays out into a scam attempt...

dude... that's totaly a scam. No one from over seas is buying your bike. Get out now and for the love of God, don't give him any persoanl information...

 

I'm getting the money and waiting for the check to clear. When it does, his shipping guy can come and pick the bike up... there's no way I can get scammed on this deal. At most I'll lose $15 on the cashiers check bouncing.

 

I emailed the guy back and told him forget it... I have gotten some other offers though. The one I'd take needs financing. If anyone wants an F4i and can come up with a reasonable offer, here's the one to buy.

Yes, I just want to see how this plays out... I'm gonna post the email communication between the two of us and take pics of the "check" he sends me... he just put a new spin on things... should be interesting.

 

Update on the attempted scam ... I filed a compliant last night with the internet fraud division of the FBI and submitted all the docs I had. I will post up the email traffic and a picture of the check in a few days.
