Solution for engine rubbing hood in 88 CRX Si B18c
I bought this car about 6 weeks ago. It has the problem of the hood not really clearing the motor. It rubs and the hood does not close right. What solutions have people done from mods to OEM hood, way it is mounted to aftermarket hoods. I see carbon fiber hoods for the car but don't know if any of them will clear the big lump under the hood. Any advice appreciated.

theres 2 lil rubber things on each side of the engine bay in the front.....u can twist them and it should make the hood sit higher......if u turn them to the left the hood sits higher....if u turn them right the hood sits lower......u can try that and see if it works maybe maybe not.....
which mounts u got?
mine with hasport mounts in my hatch fit fine, i was worried about it too.
if anything just cut some of the support out from underneath
or yeah get the carbon usdm style sir hood.

I have the hasport mounts but the hood is still a little "tight". Who makes a CF USDM Sir Style hood? approx. price range would be nice. I need a name to go find it on google. thanks.

quick and easy solution would be to grind down the factor ribbing under the hood. stick some electrical tape on the driver side corner of the valve cover and it'll stick to the spot where it rubs the most. I have a OEM CF replacement hood and cut the ribbing and its fine. My gues on CF USDM SiR hoods would be in the neighborhood of $450.00 and up. Try looking at VIS or Extreme Demensions

The taller deck of the b18c will make it rub. B16a should not. Cut out the supports by the right upper corner of the valve cover.
