umm most likely they are powdercoated and clear coated for protection. most wheels are powdercoated. and the clear coat is most likely a powdercoat too. i know that there are clear coats that are applied as a powder coat. and you can have different levels of gloss. i hope i have helped in some way, not exactly sure what you are wanting to know. power coat is a rather strong material so it doesnt chip too easily but if u like hit a curb or somthin its gunna chip but so would any material.
well i work in a tire store and i was talking to my boss the other day about rims and he brought up the question the other day about weather or not the rims i want(flat gun metalic) are powecoated and just painted because of the stone chips, but as long as their power coated the ill be alright, right?
well painting is just spraying paint onto a metal surface and letting if dry, powder coating is charging the paint positivly and the metal negativily, or vice versa and they get attracted to each other, then they bake it in an oven, causing the finish material to be alot harder and mor resistance to scratches
any body else?
any body else?
