Q about oil filter relocation kits
With respect to my oil system, I am looking at a way to easily connect oil temp/pressure gauges, make filter changing easier, and make the addition of a small oil cooler easy in the not immediate future. In an effort to kill three birds with one stone, I found the Greddy oil filter relocation kit. In addition to moving the filter anywhere I want it, it has predrilled holes for temp/pressure probes, as well as braided lines. I figure this would make the addition of an oil cooler easy at a later date. They are also pretty inexpensive, considering the cost of fittings and lines if I were to make my own, plus the cost of two adapters for the oil filter and the block. My only question is this...you have to use a 1985-87 Toyota Corolla GTS Oil filter with the kit (I guess that's what fits the adapter). I don't know anything about this filter, it's size, or it's availability. Does anyone know if this would be a step down from the OEM Honda filters I am using now? Also, does anyone have any experience with the Greddy kit (or others)? How is the seal? Any leaks? Also, they don't seem to have a Type R specific application. I know that all B series tegs use the same filter, but I don't want the Type R's small oil cooler to take up too much space for a normal install. Thanks for any information!
