Default Help:Pulled vacume hose off of brake booster brakes wont work when I put it back on

It made a pshhhhh sound when it came off the first time but when I put it on a second time and pulled it off there was no pshhh sound. My brake peddle wont even compress. Anyone know what I have to do to fix this so I can drive???

The check valve on the hose might be put on backwards causing it to not pull vaccum to your brake booster......

http://www.slhondaparts.com/im...3.jpg part #5 turn it around and see if that works...i think there is an arrow on it if im not mistaken it should point in the direction of the vaccum source.

Of course you know that you've let the vacuum out of the booster. You won't get vacuum in there again until you start the engine. You knew that, right?

i know, this is probably an old thread, but oh well....

was searching for brake problems, cuz mine just did this same exact thing....i shortened, the rubber hose, going from the master cylinder to the intake manifold...in the middle it has that gray plastic(thang), which i put back in, and reconnected it.....started the car, and the brake pedal would barely compress, like maybe half an inch, you could push real hard and it would stop.....my first thought was i put that gray plastic valve piece in backwards, i'm gonna go try that real quick, i hope thats the problem.
