Default SIRIUS ANTENNA

I was wondering if it would be ok to mount the satellite antenna inside the car ??
Since i live in kindof a bad area i dont want any thug to try to pull off the antenna, I was thinking of mounting it on my rear deck of my car (on 3rd break light).

Would this hurt my reception since it is not mounted outside the car ???

it will still give you reception, we used to do it all the time at the shop i worked at.. had very few problems infact some people loved the fact that we could and would put in the car instead of outside.. you do loose a little reception but there are ground repeaters and satiallites to help you out..

i had mine inside the car.. test it out just make sure that there is no metal directly above the antenna, as that will cut the reception done alot..

yeah you can mount it in the car, its works just fine, but if you have window tint your going to get shitty reception, because most tint is metalic. so if your going to mount it inside i would do it on the front dash. cuz your not suppose to have tint on your front window. just a tip. good luck man

just mount it outside...anyone who knows what it is to steal it....isn't going to steal it, because they have to get the entire cable. Cutting the wires won't work on that stuff. And anyone who steals sirius equipment is a ******* moron anyways because you can just turn it off.

I've had it outside of my car for almost a year now and ever had a problem.

nobody should mess with it...I've parked my car in some shitty areas and nothing bad for a year..*knock on wood* just stay away from automatic car washes, the drive-thru kind...it tends to detach the antenna. I only use the coin-op stall car washes or do it at home.
