Warranty: Seats
Well as you all know these damn seats are really weird in terms of wearing (especially the arm rest). Anyways i took my car to the dealership and they gave me the ole "We have to wait for our GM to look at that and make a decision" Then he goes as far as to tell me that they would reupholster it.... Do I really want this reupholstered (if thats how you spell it
) Anyways i thought they would have to replace the seat and arm rest itself.... Let me know your experiences so i can know what to expect...

It's very unlikely they would replace the seat. First, this is not a typical warranty replacement item and unless they deem it "defective" then they won't replace it at all. Also, keep in mind, the seat isn't defective, just the material and/or padding covering it, hence it's logical that the dealer would just have the seat reupolstered (sp?) at a local trim shop.
Wear, however, hasn't been a problem for most of us. I heard one vocal guy from up near Clevleand complaing a week or so ago, but other than that I've never heard a complaint.
Typically these excessive wear issues are caused by one of two things. The type of clothing worn when ingressing and egressing the seat and the weight of the person. If you wear abrasive clothing and or weigh more than the average joe, your seats will wear faster that's gonna happen no matter what kinda car you drive.

I always wear Jeans and the spot where my wallet sits in my right back pocket is starting to wear the seat out a bit, it's pretty irritating. I only have 4500 miles on my car so far too! I guess I'll try to lose a few pounds and pull my wallet out of my pocket from now on.

i have like 11K on mine.. recently i sold my seats.. i sat in them w/all kinds of pants, jeans, whatever.. usually the seat is going the be fine as long as you are sitting in it properly.. i also always have my pockets empty when i'm in the car and all my personal stuff is either in the glovebox or the passanger seat.
As for the arm rest of course it will go bad.. i try not to have my arm there all the time but if it gets worn out i will just take it to one of those custom shops and have it reupholstered..
btw, since nobody sits in my rear seats (cant fit due to buckets in the front) should i take them out ot avoid possible wear and tear? they are just collecting dust and being exposed to sun.. i just keep them there to retain the street look or whatever you want to call it. Opinions?

Taking them out would look funny if your going for the street look. I would suggest folding them down. That way only the top collects dust and gets the sun. When lifted back up years later they will still probably look new.
