Default Oil Seal for T3 Turbo

This is my own fault. I was running too much pressure on my oil sending lines on my Garrett T3 and now the oil seal on the exhaust side is shot. I can get one fairly easily I think, however I'm curious as to know if all the seals are alike. Would a T3/T4 seal fit a T3 and so on? If so that'll make my fix a lot quicker. Thanks

Ya no kidding. It's embarassing to drive around a done up civic and having it smoke all over the place. I need to get this fixed. Bad.

It's T3 CHRA, the only thing T4 about it is the compressor backing plate, housing, and wheel.

FYI, the seals do next to nothing... the only true (carbon) seal setups were on the early blow through carb turbos used on the 2.3T, GM 301, etc. The only time you have problems with a piston type seal is when you have extreme oil pressures or when the bearings are shot and the shaft starts wallowing around.

interesting info , so when people think they haveblown seals , its probably the problems you described , but when they get it rebuilt all that gets checked and/or replaced , so they will never know.
