strange noise...
ok, so i havent driven this car in eons (once a month maybe), i have 2 others, and about to have 3 others (04 Jetta GLI) so you can understand... so i cranked it up, and everything is running alright, you know, no problem, but its a little louder than normal, so i pop the hood, and on the side where the pulleys are, and the belts and all that fun stuff, it sounds like its not lubricated, like it sounds coarse, i dont know if anyone understands what i mean, but the question i have is how can i lubricate that part or those parts, what would i use, and how would i go about doing it, i am not even mechanically inclined like some of you ladies and gentleman so you have to bear with me if the question appears to be minimal or dumb, thanks!
I have no idea but if the belt is too tight, loosen up the tension would help to cut the noise down. check the tension range first.
oh, if you looking for something to lube the belt, dont use motoroil or wd40, they will damage the belt. go to autozone and look for those little package of gease called "belt dressing"
