I haven't really been to a drag race since I moved to SD. I was wondering where the action is. I know Barona has a new raceway, Carlsbad has a track (which I hear is in pretty bad shape) and Qualcomm Stadium occasionally hosts races. Where are the best places to go to watch, and see sport compacts compete. I'm not really all that interested in Pro-Stocks etc. I like watching 4 cylinders and rotaries go at it.

 

Carlsbad raceway is just ok, get lots of practice runs in

 

Not into running just yet. Something tells me no one wants to see my 89 Teg turn out low 16s while leaving trails of broken parts Our RSX-S would be fun, but it's strictly for commuting right now. Once I finish work on the house, I can get a project car to go break... I mean race.

 

Go to Qualcomm. They have an 1/8th mile run there so even your slow car won't look too bad. Racelegal.com is there site for updates. I onces saw a Hyndai accent (1990 something) run there and he came out with a 14 sec 1/8th mile , hate to see what he would run in the quarter.
