Allot of people on here (engine builders and tuners) would argue that's from a lean condition. I'm not going to because it's time to get off HT and get a couple hours of sleep.

there was a piston skirt just like that, that earl said was from going lean. Anthony is a nice guy, I personally got a Tial and who told me what he had in stock and I got it in 3 days. I have no complaints at all.

Damn, I just spent like 30 minutes reading that old thread. Yeah I know I am a slow reader.

But anyways, the point is that it's very hard to tell who's fault it is when a built motor blows. As a consumer you can only go off of reputation and word-of-mouth. On top of that, when you are talking about motors, there are still bad things that can happen. You just need to pray and hire the best tuner you can afford. And just for the record, I have no experience with Spark Racing, so I won't be able to help you in that regard. I can give you a recommendation though.

If you need a motor built I say go with Earl. I talked with him on the phone once for 20+ minutes about a stupid radiator, he acted like I was the highest priority the whole time. Not to mention his incredible reputation on H-T for being meticulous with every motor build he does. for Earl.
