Default carz resonator vs cherry bomb

ok well first of this exhaust if for my daily driver so i jsut wont it to be quiet, so i dont realy want bigger piping or anything. The cheapest estimate i have got from a muffler shop is 350. It is so high because the places are chargin me 150 bucks for the resonator......my question is if i could jsut go get a cherry bomb from meijer and use it. I have a cherry bomb on my h22 eg as a resonator and it does fine
let me know what u all think

also do i even need a resonator for a 1.75 inch exhaust for a 1.5 spittin out a missive 102hp at the crank

a resonator should cost around $30. Is he charging $150 for a cat?
