We built a 88 CRX w/a b16 a1 in it for the 2004 grm event for under 2k ( actually $1800). We just found out we are in the mag this month and will also be in the next one as well.. ( page 185) way cool...

Yeah I just read that issue the other day. I think the contest they run are pretty cool considering everyone has a limited amount of money spend. Its always funny how everyone spends $500 on nitrous just for the drag strip.

I went back in 2002 with a friend's 86 CRX HF with an 87 Integra engine and a Saab turbo. The car was built in about 3 weeks time, so needless to say we had many issues with it. It was a fun event, though.

Thanks... When we left Texas i fuelled the car up with all the race fuel we had left ( less than 5 gals) So i could fill the fuel cell back up and take it with us. The drag race was first and we made 32 passes trying to lower the amount of fuel in the tank so that we would not have to auto x with that much fuel... it was funny.... run after run after run.. I think the cooling fan came on for 10 sec after each run and people kept asking ( dont you guys ever leave the line?) Every time they looked up there we were there..
After we looked around most cars were braking or overheating all over the place...
The only time we took the hood off was for some pictures....
I built the car mostly my self to run D mod, so my wife and i would stop beating up our daily drivers ( she has a 90 dx CRX and i have a 98 itr). I asked a friend to drive the car because he is a GREAT driver ( GS-72 on this board) ... I was so board at the event that i was helping other cars and teams.. Dam Honda made me feel like the Matag man... It was lots of fun and we willl be going back next year..
