Default What should I do with my car?

OK, guys I have been reading these forums for the past couple of days and have learned a bunch of stuff. I would like to know what you guys would do with a '89 Civic DX Sedan. This car has 194k on it, new clutch, motor mounts, CV Joints. Needs new brakes too. OK, I want this puppy to haul some ***. You have 7 grand to play with. What would you do with that 7 grand? No body work, only things to make this thing fly, and new brakes(it needs them bad :D). I don't want to buy a new car either. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Mark

I would get a b20b block b18c5 or b16b head or just a b16 head with civic type r intake cam, b16b pistons or a good set of high compression pistons, b16 lsd cable tranny with act 6 puck clutch, all the bolt ons like a 4-1 header, vafc and re-programmed ecu, bigger brakes and rear disk conversion. I'd rather put it into a ef civic hb, maybe because I have one.

Sounds like just what im looking for. Would a setup like this be a good choice for day to day driving though?

A crvtec would make that sedan fly. Since I don't have 7 grand to play with I am selling my zc and am going to work on getting a b16 and building it as an all motor street machine. Shop around and see what kind of prices you can get on parts and different swaps. Anything other than that d15 will make that sedan haul some *** Good luck with the sedan.

b16b (PCT) pistons will not fit in a b20 block...get rid of those low compression stock b20 pistons and get some ENDYN pistons or some JE's

thanks for all the info guys. DOHC DX do you think this would be possible install to do myself? With the help of a mechanic I know. How long do you think it will take. Would you happen to know the prices on installs of something like that for those shops? Is putting a B20 gonna require me cutting into my engine compartment or any type of welding? I am in Arizona, and when I get it done(hopefully by the begining of this summer) if you would like we could possibly meet up. All I know is that I can't wait to do this, this car should be so much fun to drive knowing that I can beat out a Porsche Oh well the engine first and then the exterior/interior. You know of any cool looking body kits for my type of car? I have seen a bunch but they are all modeled on hatches, will those same kits work on my sedan? Thanks again for all the help, it is much appreciated.

you still have to add the vtec oil lines to the b20 block you need to have a machine shop do it for you
