Bogarts for lapping?
I've got the opportunity to purchase a set of 13x8" Bogart wheels with 21.0x9.0x13” Avon bias-ply vintage road racing tires mounted on them. They're a three piece aluminum wheels show minor wear from use on the track, but are in very good shape overall. They weigh 9 lbs each, and are straight as an arrow after years of use. They have a 4.25” backspace and a 4x100 bolt circle. There are shouldered lug nuts included. They have a thread pitch of M12x1.50.
I can pick them up for under $350. Worth it? How ideal would they be for road racing/lapping events? Better suited for drag racing? How would they fare on a 2300lb Honda Civic?

If they are the Bogart wheels designed for drag racing, I would not even think of using them for track events. They are not designed to take the lateral loads that track events/autocrosses put on wheels.
Uh, if they're mounted with Avons they weren't being used for drag racing...
I'd say it's probably fine. What were they on? Something under 1800 lbs I'd bet. The flimsy sidewalls of a bias-ply tire are something to consider too, you'll probably mount up radials and that's a whole lot less give before an impact gets to the wheel. Something to think about. If they weigh 9 lbs each, that's 2 lbs more than some other 13x8's out there that are perfectly safe to take on a road course.

Bogart says drag only. Check the web site, they spell it out in the FAQ section.

Bogart wheels are not just for DRAG racing. There are applications for ROAD RACING. They are made totally different from the Drag racing wheels.
We sell of course mostly for the Drag racing applications, but we are trying to get the Road wheels out there. Its just they are not inexpensive wheels. thats what turns people away.

I know a few people that are using the Lenso VDP "Drag Wheels" for autocross. I'd try the Bogarts for autocross, but for lapping events just get a set of OE wheels with a set of Azenis tires if you want to go economy.
The pics of the wheels shown in the original post look like the drag wheels to me. Look at how thin the center "disk" is. The road race wheels usaully have a thicker cast or forged center in them. Like this...
see how thick the center is?...
Those look pretty flat to me. I'd send those pics to somebody at Bogart to be sure before ever even thinking of running them on a road course or auto-x!
Can you say rollover?

the bolt holes are deep on the drag wheels. The thickness of the flat area(section thru the spokes) is what to look at in those photos.
Jake- I realize that. By flat, I was referencing the lack of thickness. Look at how thick the area is just to the left of the valve stem in the pic you posted...the reflection in the center shows how thick that is. It's not just a 1/8-3/16" flat section. Those are very different than the wheels in the original post. Here's another pic of the wheel design from Kodiak you posted...
