I have a very odd problem....

When i first start driving there is a scraping/squeling coming from the right front brakes. It sounds like a need new pads, but it goes away after like 1 minutes of driving.

The other wierd part is that its only when the wheel is turned at all to the right, on left turns it doesnt make it.

I was thinking of just replacing the pads, but could it be the dust shield or somthing like that?

 

depending on the sound i had that before and it was a rock that got stuck between my brake shield and my rotor... all i did was take it apart and put them back on and the rock was gone as well as the noise...

not sure if thats what you got but it happened to me

 

i tried moving around the sheild and trying to find anything stuck in there with no luck...

after driving it for a while today , its getting worse. but it will go away, and come back. and it always goes away when i press the brake...

help!

 

well its still there, but if im driving down the road and its making the noise, i can tap the brake and itll go away for a couple minutes, then come back, do it agiain and again....

help my broke ***, i would just buy new pads, but i wana be sure thats what i need.

i think this may be the first time no one has known exactly what my problem is here on h-t....

 

On the some brake pads there are these metal tabs on the outsides or one side that are about a 1/4" or so long. they rub against your rotor when the brade pad is getting low, kinda like a reminder that your brakes will need changing soon. that might be causing the noice.
