Default $$$$$$$$$

How much do vtec engines cost and where can I buy them or install them?

I did search the forum, but I cannot find any topics regarding these issues.
<U>Do not </U> feel too inclined to answer immediately, but the input would be great.

thanks

These are not actual cost - (assuming you want B-series motor)

b16 1st gen - should be $1,800
b16 2nd gen - $2,000-$2,200
GSR - $3,000-$3,200
98+ b18c5-R - $4,300+
97 R and under should be $3,900 - $4,200
16b - $3,700 - $3,900

Place I suggest would be:

http://www.hmotorsonline.com
http://www.importautosalvage.com
Or a local junkyard close by.

depends very heavily on the milage of the motor you are getting and if you're getting any gaurantees on installation. I don't know of any places that would give a waranty (infact i don't think that exists on used motors), but if you get a good deal they will agree to fix anything that breaks within 10K miles due to poor installation of the motor. However, that is also a long shot and you will pay a lot more for it...

best bet is to shop around and find a balance between cost, milage, and a shop you can trust to put it in for you (good reputation).

Agreed The information you are looking for definately exists on this website already. And putting "$$$$$$$$$$$" as your thread title does not help people in the future who might have the same question as you.
