Default tire psi at the track?

Going to the track for the first time...what do you guys all run for max handling on street tires? I've got Eagle F1's, I was thinking 25 psi...any suggestions are appreciated!

Don't go too low on the pressure with street tires you will loose all the benefit of the speed rating and handling. I would try more in the 34-36lbs range....

I wouldn't run 25psi even on the street

"Max handling" on the track is about not overheating the tread compound. Low pressures will often make this problem worse, while allowing the sidewalls to roll over, so it's typical to run higher pressures on the track than on the street.

What track?
Road course... factory pressures will be fine for you.

I think she's talking about the short/straight "track".
... i.e., the "strip"

As the tire's heat increases, the pressure will increase as well, so many racers start with lower than normal cold pressure for road course use.

Goodyear Eagle F1s want a lot of pressure for road course running. I ran mine at max rated cold on my 99 Camaro with good success.

actually I'm not talking about the strip...I'm going to Monza...
So should I keep them at around 30-34 psi?

Monza!

30-34's good stop after a couple of laps and check the pressures after the tires get hot. Whatch the edge of the tire so its not rolling over on to the side wall.

It's not a matter of squatting on that stuff...the fact is that I'm not going drag racing! I'm going to the racetrack in Monza...
I'll post pics...

Don't worry! I'm still thinking about the dump truck and trash truck thread.
