Default 4th gen Automatic Tranny reliability/life span?

Alright, this is a 94 Si Automatic, for your information. However, my question is more universal.

Simply, what are your guys' experience/knowledge on the reliability/life span of a 4th generation Automatic tranny (I'm guessing the 4th gen auto tranny is the same in the S, Si, and 4WS trims)? I'm trying to surmise a realistic idea of what to expect out of my tranny. Right now it's got a 124k and still does a good job. It's not perfectly smooth going into second (not major problem at all, though) but all the other gears go in great.

Most of my research has been asking questions to Autotrader Prelude sellers (and believe me, I've sent quite a few emails over the years ) as far as the Auto tranny is concerned. So, maybe some of you guys with a non-bias sales agenda attitude can give me more straight answers. Thanks.

My Wife has a 92 SI 4WS auto-trans with 196K on it. To my knowledge the transmission is the original one, and it still running strong. Unfortunately my only experience is through hers.

i've never really heard anything bad about 4th gen auto trannies... i've seen plenty over 200k km (~120,000 miles) without any problems.

i dont' think you have any reason to be worried.
