aftermarket header weights - which is lightest?
I hate to add to the plethora of header posts... but Id like to know if anyone has weighed their exhaust manifold(s). I'm looking at them from a weight reduction point of view. For instance, are ceramic headers noticeably lighter than steel manifolds? tia
Think about it, why would you want a lighter header? Along with a heavier header comes durability... For example, I bottomed on my DC and crunched it, I bottomed my ITR header and no dents, for the ITR is a heaver more durable header.

Umm...ever heard of titanium? How about cast steel? Two big differences there. Titanium is going to be much lighter than the steel and much much stronger as well. Weight has nothing to do with quality or durability. I sure as hell wouldn't compare header weights to figure out which is better. If you have a problem bottoming out, raise your car or put on a skid plate. Out of curiosity, was your DC header ceramic or SS? If it was ceramic, then it was mild steel which isn't going to be quite as strong as SS.
Otherwise, I'd be curious to know as well. Any shop owners that have this info? Shouldn't be too difficult to track down some shipping weights.
