timing belt problem?
well , im having two problems actually. first, when i press on the gas pedal, the car doesnt acccelerate right away, it pauses for a second and then goes. second, sometimes when im trying to accelerate after decelerating ( like when coming out of a turn) the car actually slows down a bit and then moves out after i step on the gas. im thinking its the timint belt and i also plan on getting a tune up. please give me your opinion on whats going on here, i appeciate it greatly.

what i meant by this is that the car slows down after i step on the gas , and then goes back to having power.

yeah, either it is in dire need of a tuneup or your timing belt has jumped a tooth.
first thing id do it check timing marks -- see if they line up.

how do i check the timing on the crankshaft and sprocket? and which belt is the timing belt and is there anyway i can adjust it by myself?
