Streaks from Clay Bar
I've been using Meguiars Clay Bar and after claying the entire car, I still see streaks of where the clay went, and no matter what I do/use, the streaks are still there. Any suggestions?
I hate freaking clay bars. sometimes they work great and sometimes they will screw you. sometimes the condition of the car prior to claying it can cause this. I refuse to use a clay bar on customers cars when i detail because of the inconsistency
Same thing happened to me on my car...I was using a Mothers clay bar, and plenty of lubricant.
Its hard to see on mine cuz my car is white, but it is visable in the right condintions. I'm getting it buffed/polished soon.

Strange, I've used it so many times on my cars, and friends car, and customers cars when I had a small detailing business, and never had any issues. I used it on some pretty beat up cars, but always used plenty of moisture to make sure it wouldn't streak up.

Car was plenty wet with just being washed, plus I used the quick detailer spray that came with it. I have a PC, but what should I use to get rid of those "zebra" streaks? rubbing compound? scratchX? wet sand?
There must be some abrasive that will remove them.
TIA

cut and buff!
my friend works for mercedes benz and IDENS detailing which is for ACURA/LEXUS does:
1. wash the car thoroughly
2. clay the car
3. cut and buff to remove scratches left from the clay bar
4. polish and wax
all you need to due is cut and buff. be careful not to burn the paint!

Sounds like user error to me.
Make sure you have a clean car, claybar, and use enough clay lube or detail spray and you shouldn't have any problems.

What's your clay method? Are you wiping the panel dry after you clay? You could try using some more lube after you wipe the first time to see if the streaks will come out. The streaks can also be caused by not using enough lube. If you wash the car again you should be fine, otherwise a fine polish will take care of the streaks.

Scratches left from the clay bar? Sounds like a typical dealer wash to me.
Why would you need to cut and buff on a new car? You shouldn't *HAVE* to.
