ok for a little background i just purchased a d16y8 that was missing a few things. one of them was the vtec solenoid. i was going to buy one off of a friend for cheap, but he told me it was off a d16z6 and would not work on my y8. well i thought they were all interchangeable especially on those two motors, but ive heard so many rumors about it i told him to hold off. well i was closing up (i work at Honda by the way) and I noticed one of the mechanics dropped a blown motor out of a 94-97 (i think those are the years) accord, it had a vtec solenoid on it and i figured since the motor is trash ill grab it...so if the rumor is true that vtec solenoids are interchangeable between B and D series motors my question is what about F series?

 

oh yea i should also mention i dont have the motor at my house so i cant compair the bolt patterns. thanks

i have no idea if a f series would work. i do know that my y8 vtec solenoid didnt work on a d15b. i have a vtec solenoid for a y8 for sale if u want it. email me lylhawaian@aol.com
