Default need oil change advice for #510 please...special situation

hey guys, i really enjoyed all of your responses to my last post, (mugenized and spooned R's) thanks to those that posted. anyway, i need some advice. this month marks my R's first anniversary, and i was deciding if i should do my first oil change now. before you guys flame me, the situation is that my car only has 1300 ticks on the odometer. the miles are low, but they have been 1300 miles of sheer joy; but because i have like 3 jobs and work full time on my art, i only drive her 1 or 2 sundays a month. yes i check the oil and other liquids periodically, and i don't drive her harshly. do i risk any engine damage with the way i've treated her since day one? i didn't follow the 3 months or 3k miles thing for obvious reasons. any advice and theories from the pros will be much appreciated. btw...the car is completely stock except for a few jdm goodies like pedals and shiftboot from mike at ips and david from r and d.

I'm clueless really on the affects of oil just sitting in a motor. You may want to read up on classic cars that are stored/infrequently driven. I'd recommend it regarding all aspects of your car.

I have 80k miles. Talk about good times!

Drive it more!

Hmm. I'd go ahead and change it and throw some synthetic in there. After that, I'd probably change the oil twice a year, regardless of mileage. I'd think synthetic would be more stable than dino juice, but you never know. Better safe than sorry

Forgot to check your location -- what sort of climate does your R live in?
