i know its a stupid question but is 1.5 header and 1.8 ls header bolt up same. i was going to buy header for 1.5 but i have a 1.8 waitng to go in. should i wait?

 

won't work. the 1.5L is a D series, adn the 1.8L is a B series.

 

thats what i figured thanks. do you know when i bolt 1.8 in it will the exhaust bolt up to header.

 

what are you starting out with? Stock or aftermarket exhaust, Si, DX, Std or HF, it matters. If you have less than a Si Seriously and I mean seriously consider geting a new system too. DX exhaust strangled a ZC on upper 1/2 or RPM range. an HF, or Std system would be even worse. Is there an exhaust flange rear of the oil pan or farther forward? I believe the HF system goes to in front of the motor, but its also only slightly larger than a soda straw. A DX or Si system should bolt right up. I did have to have a custom flange welded to my JDM SiR Cat because it didn't bolt right up but it was a different length that the US cat.

 

i have a dx. i have free flowing cat but stock exhaust. was going to buy aftermarket header for b18, and later get catback. my question is bolting to cat is it going to work or will shop have to make custom down pipe. just trying to figure this all out before i get there and i'm missing something. hate when that happens.
