Oil in the radiator?
I am working on a 98 Accord LX F23A VTEC 2.3L
I am finding Oil of some sort in the Radiator
but the Head and Headgasket are fine.
What else could it be?
thanks!

Ive seen a few blocks with internal cracks. Presurizing the oil system with compressed air and watching for antifreeze to be pushed out of the radiator is the only way I know to verify it.

yeah if you are sure that the head gasket is not the problem another thing could be that if the block is warpped. but if not the head gasket i would put it on a hairline crack in the block maybe. just my thought.

there are two lines, besides the two radiator hoses that connect to the radiatior.
i'm pretty sure that it runs to the Automatic Transmission. it could be the case the ATF is leaking into the water section of the radiator -- i think the ATF flows into the radiator for cooling, then returns back to the tranny. it could be that the problem exists within your radiator.
just a thought... $0.02
thanks

oh ya, try and do a compression test...if u have not done so already. that way, u can be certain that it is not your head gasket. i found some oil in my radiator and i was told that my head gasket was bad so i went ahead and changed my head gasket. for all i know, it may not have been the problem but no more oil in my rediator. i did not do a compression test but as i cranked the motor to Top Dead Center, i could hear air pissing out from in between the head and block.
just my 2 scents

now come to think of it tranny oil in the radiator is probaly it. i rember my teacher from linking tech telling me that, that is very common. He also said it will look like oil because most of the time tranny fluid is red. and when it mixes with the radiator it turns brown.
like klutch44 said the tranny fluid. good call.
I thinks these forms solve problems quicker than mechanics.
