import builders turbo manifold for k-series
Has anyone used a import builders turbo manifold? I'm thinking of buying this manifold for my k-series engine. Its made out of 304 stainless.
I've also seen another manifold on ebay. Its not the one made by OBX. It looks exactly the same as the import builders one.

Are you certain it's not the OBX one? I highly doubt IB would do that, but perhaps they know something we dont know, like perhaps OBX/SSauto/Meng Etc.. are alot higher quality for K-series then the notoriously shitty B-series manifolds. Looking at the OBX K-Series, it seems to be made of thicker metal, with nice tig welds, and good contruction. Looks can be decieving though...

I would talk to DTR or LoveFab about potentially making you a custom one. You could be the prototype, and maybe workout a deal for a discount.

I've already emailed Cody at Lovefab, he doesn't make them. Full-race is making a prototype manifold. But its for a k20 in an ek. Who's DTR? Do they have a website?

I asked about that same manifold a few weeks back. Then I realized that it actually is an OBX manifold. Check out this auction:

I just got some more info from jeff at import builders on their manifold. He told me that the downpipe would have to be braced.
" No warranty on it because I see alot of people installing them incorrectly. What you will need to do is BRACE the downpipe, so the weight of the downpipe is not all on the manifold. You make a bracket from the back of block to the downpipe, and you could also make a bracket from the head to the base of the manifold to assure it. We use them, no problems. "
Any opinions on the import builders manifold? Should I just wait for a manifold thats strong enough and wont need bracing? Is bracing the downpipe a common thing?
