Problem with auto accord H22
When I just got the enigne swap, the car would goes up to 7000rpm then shift to the next. After driving it for a month now, the car would shift at about 6200rpm. Why?
Anyone have experience?
Thanks.

i just did a jdm h22a swap into the 92 ex-r.the engine came with a auto p13 ecu ,i hope anyway.i had the same problems.so what i did was unplugged the tcu now i have normal cruiseing rpm,but when i excelerate it starts in 3 gear?i thought auto tranny's started in first gear and shift up thru all gears?my question is does the jdm h22a "auto"come with a tcu from factory or does the jdm p13 that comes with the jdm h22a do all the shifting.

no, the OBD1 jdm h22a auto has a seperate TCU just like any other OBD1 honda auto. You need the tcu, and it should have came with your engine.
And you definitely want to leave it plugged in.

are 100% positive?reason why im saying this is,i talked to two different shops that import jdm engines they say that the tcu doesnt come in jdm just usdm.can someone confirm this.i also have been driving around without the tcu and i get no codes.so if the p13 auto ecu takes a tcu to run the tranny whats the #'s on it, so i can look for one or buy one directly from honda.
