JDM b16a2 OBD2 engine | USDM p30 | Harness , Need help
Hi there
I´m from Portugal.
I own a Hatchback Honda Civic 97 VTI (think its called "SI" in the US and only goes 99 -00) with jdm b16a2 engine and a usdm p2p OBD2 ECU, i just got my conversion harness and i already have a USDM p30 but my vtec does not engage and the CEL is on. Anyone knows why?

What code? the CEL light?.....i think its because the vtec does not engage...i read something about it.

what cel code is it? if u listed it would alow people to help you further. but just for guessing maybe the harness wont work in edm cars.
I dont know the cel code, but when i conect my original obd2 que car is normal, when i conect the p30 with harness, the car doen´s open the vtec and the cel light is on...i think its because the vtec does not open.

i think its prolly ur harness. the wiring on it might be wrong and the vtec plugs are switched or somthing goofy is all i can think ok. if it works with the p2p why not just use that?
p30 has a chip. but it happens the same stupid thing with an original p30

without the code its a usless guessing game...
but as a hint: I'll give you a simple task, which is to check for the oil pressure switch on the vtec housing. most likely, its not there, as JDM and some Euro spec motors never had this past 96 model years. thus no vtec and cel.
in order to fix this:
splice the oil pressure wire (D6) on the harness converter going to ecu and route it to A4 (vtec solenoid) this will fix the issue.

look at the pic above. u see that green plug thats the oil pressure one ur car is lacking. thats where ur problem is coming from due to the fact the usdm ecu is looking for that feed and it isnt getting it.

Can I do a shunt in the ECU conecting D6 to A4 pin to overcome my problem?

But ive got the code 22 after my eudm eg4 d15 > b16a2 swap.
engine from eudm ek4 obd2 b16a2
engineharness obd2 98 itr
itr obd2 distr
obd1/p28 d16z6 coupe underdash wirring (the eudm eg4 is dpfi and non vtec obd0, P04 ecu/usdm P05 i think)
stock p30 del sol eudm ecu
But can i do the same thing as in this thread to make my vtec work or am i wrong...
