Fan Question on EF

Default Fan Question on EF

with the key on and the engine off..no matter what temp engine is..hot or cold..my fans run on my 91 Si...is this right?

with the A/C switch off- no. It is probably a bad thermo switch in the back of the block. With the key on and fans running (cold engine) disconnect the thermoswitch (above oil filter-black boot and 2 pins under boot) If the fans go off, replace the thermoswitch.

If you unplugged the thermoswitch, and the fans stayed on, then your fan is grounding somewhere. The thermoswitch has the fan's ground circuit routed through it and completes when it warms up.
