Yup. Miata bore is 54.1. I strongly advise you to take it to a machine shop to bore it out and not do it yourself.
And the boring doesn't have anything to do with offset. The offset is fine. The boring is so you can center the wheel on the hub.

my buddy has mx3 wheels on his hatch. to get em to fit u have to take a grinder and grind about 1/4 of and inch ring for the hole in the middle to clear. if u dont do this u will hear weird noises coming from the wheels during braking and turning (i know cause i didnt feel like grinding them). its very simple to do just grind from the back of the wheel, test fit ull notice when it fits on good.

As do I. PLEASE do it right, not half@ssed. I just had a set done. It cost $60. Great deal considering how much a machinist can get payed per hour.
